WHAT IS CELEBRATION?
Celebration is a youth rally that began in 1984 by a group of Christian men who wanted to have a spiritual event to build up young people by encouraging and helping them to be more spiritually strong. Since that time, Celebration has CONTINUED to be a traditional event that takes place each fall at the Kentucky Dam Village. The first one was held at West Kentucky Youth Camp.
Celebration has changed some with the times but the message still stays the same. The message of Jesus is annually preached to around 500 teens and sponsors.
WHERE DO WE STAY?
Most stay at Kentucky Dam Village. If you would rather get an AirBnB, Holiday Inn, or Houseboat, GO FOR IT!! You decide what you want and how much to charge your kids. Then be sure to register your students online for Celebration and we will see you there!
WHO IS IN CHARGE?
Celebration is run by a committee of Christian Ministers and men who serve at local churches. They work together to choose the speakers and the events that take place each fall. All of those on the committee are members of the churches of Christ.
WHAT do i do during free time?
During Saturday’s free time you are free to leave the park with your group. Nearby Land Between the Lakes is 144,000 acres of wilderness paradise. Paducah is just a 30-minute drive with many great restaurants, and many groups enjoy bringing in food and playing board games and frisbee football in the park.
WHO can come?
Celebration is for 6th grades to 12th grades and chaperones. We realize that small children do come from time to time, but if they take up a seat we ask you to pay for them because seating is limited. The activities and content will be centered around the teens for the weekend.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost for celebration is $65 per person. This includes admission, a cool t-shirt, breakfast each day, and a big bbq lunch on saturday. The ACTUAL event cost is much higher but prices are kept low due to the generous support of several congregations and a grant from the Carson-myre foundation.
You choose your housing and then add that cost to $65 to get your total group cost.
